LET US BE ENCOURAGED

As we move into the month of July, we have some important updates to share with you. Most of our HCM schools have successfully completed their elementary exams. This is a significant milestone, and we are grateful for the dedication and hard work of our students, teachers, and staff. However, we face ongoing challenges in the communities of Fonds Cheval and Port Au Prince. These areas are still experiencing the repercussions of lost days due to gang activities. As a result, our students there are yet to take their exams. In addition, the high school exams are scheduled for later this month. We ask for your continued prayers and support as we navigate these difficulties and strive to provide a safe and conducive environment for learning.

We are encouraged by the arrival of Kenyan forces, who are strategically planning to reduce violence by disarming gang factions. The Haitian population is cautious but optimistic about their presence, seeing it as a potential beginning of a new start for Haiti. Please keep this in your prayers as well.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of HCM, and we are excited to celebrate this milestone. We have a celebration scheduled in West Palm Beach in October. God willing, we hope to hold celebration events at our primary church locations in Haiti. More details will be shared soon.

We also want to remind everyone to keep our elderly community members in their thoughts and prayers. Many of them face challenges in attending church due to physical limitations and illness. One of our pastors has taken the initiative to minister to them by serving communion at their homes and praying with them. This effort ensures they are spiritually fed and encouraged.

Community Updates

In Beudet, Pastor Dieudon tells us that the situation remains challenging as many people are still unable to return due to ongoing gang activities. He is able to creatively conduct Sunday services via WhatsApp with the few members who can attend. The congregation is willing and eager to participate in person, but the risk of violence is still present.

In Fonds Verette, Pastor Silvio recently held a training session with 15-20 church leaders on the theme "The Law and the Prophets." This training helped connect leaders and guide young people in serving effectively, ensuring the Word of God continues to be preached.

In Nan Plaisir, Pastor Auchange and Pastor Romelus organized a conference for ladies and families, which saw such high attendance that no more space was available. There is a pressing need to expand the church building. Kerby, one of Mrs. Betty’s sons, is working on a blueprint, and once it is ready, it will motivate the congregation to raise the necessary funds for this expansion.

We are reminded of the words in Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This verse gives us comfort and strength as we work through these challenges together.

Your support, both in prayer and resources, is invaluable to us. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to our mission and the well-being of our students and communities. Please continue to keep Fonds Cheval and PAP, as well as our entire HCM family, in your prayers. Asking for protection, peace, and perseverance for everyone involved.
